The Basics

The Southern Nevada Home Builders Association is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life by meeting the housing and community development needs of Southern Nevada.

HomeAid Southern Nevada is a local affiliate of HomeAid. We attack the reality of homelessness with a unique and collaborative approach. Through housing development and community engagement, our mission is to help those experiencing homelessness to build new lives.

Vision Statement

HomeAid’s vision is to be a vital force in creating safe and dignified housing and programmatic facilities for those who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Mission Statement

HomeAid’s mission is to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education.

Core Values

Inclusiveness: Valuing that every individual has worth and human dignity through a willingness to help our neighbors in times of need and to understand the unique stories behind each individual we serve.

Collaboration: Embracing working together as a community to achieve what is not possible alone.

Integrity: Ensuring that everything we do is accomplished with a sense of responsibility, honesty, respect, confidence, and a commitment to stay consistently aligned with our mission.

The Power of a Triangle

The Triangle is one of the most simple shapes yet it exudes strength, stability and can bear the weight cast upon it from a variety of angles. The Triangle is often found in various elements of construction including building support and trusses. Equally as strong, are the three sides of HomeAid’s Triangle, as they are each critical components to fulfilling our mission and clearly demonstrate how HomeAid exists to serve those who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Home Builders Association HomeAid Southern Nevada History

Together We are Building New Lives

Founded in 1953 by 12 local homebuilders and incorporated with the State in 1954, the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association ranks as the oldest and largest local trade organization representing the residential construction industry in the state of Nevada. It has nearly 500 members working in all facets of the homebuilding industry.

It is an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders, a Washington, D.C.-based trade association founded in 1942 to enhance the climate for housing and the building industry. NAHB is made up of about 800 state and local associations. About 1/3 of NAHB’s 140,000 members are home builders and/or remodelers.

In 2014, the SNHBA adopted HomeAid Southern Nevada as its official outreach partner. This partnership has resulted in over $3.4 million given back through the shelter build projects which are made possible by the generosity of the builders trades and suppliers.

Since we opened our doors, more than 200,000 square feet have been built and renovated, and over 3,800 homeless children and adults have been served through the great work of countless builders, trades, sponsors and volunteers involved with HomeAid Southern Nevada.

In our time working in the Southern Nevada community, we have seen the need for continued support of non-profit organizations that serve the homeless population. Often times, this is a forgotten population, so with the help and generosity of donors like YOU, we are able to assist many organizations in expanding their operations, continuing to provide beds and ultimately serving more homeless men, women and children in our community.

HomeAid Southern Nevada is one of 19 local Affiliates across 13 states.

HomeAid is a leading nonprofit developer of housing and programmatic facilities for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

“We are so grateful to HomeAid Southern Nevada for their commitment to our community.”
